Behavioral Profiling Academy

Discover the fascinating correlation between the brain, emotions, and the body! The One-Semester Behavioral Profiling Academy is a course ensuring that you will attain comprehensive skills in emotion and behavioral analysis, that is, the analysis of human behavior. The programme comprises 12 thematic modules and is delivered online, ending in a final test that verifies the obtained knowledge.

It is the only behavioral profiling course available in Polish created by scientists and practitioners from uniformed services. The course content was developed in cooperation with the International Association of Behavior Detection & Analysis.

Does behavior reflect personality?

Is it possible to profile someone based on the looks? Does observing people’s nonverbal behavior, the way their talk, dress or communicate, is an effective profiling tool? In most cases, the answer is yes; for this reason, it is worth to learn what are the patterns that dictate our repeatable behavior.

Profiling methods (mainly criminal profiling) have been developed by the FBI, starting from the criminal profiling in the 1970s.

Airports where profilers were employed no acts of terrorist attacks have taken place

At present, profiling has gained new allies in the form of artificial intelligence and machine learning. Analysing generally available data in the social media, algorithms can effortlessly crate our personality profiles and combine our appearance with our character traits.

How do others view you?

Based on the looks and nonverbal cues, we immediately decide whether a given person is trustworthy, likeable, competent or intelligent.

These are key straits in building relationships, in negotiating or providing customer service. At present, most meetings take place online in the form of video calls. Unable to see the entire person on the other side of the camera, we focus mainly on our interlocutor’s face and voice. In this situation, we rely to a much greater degree on the first impression and small nonverbal messages.

We can tell right away – Can I trust him? Is this a person I want to work with? Is this what a competent individual looks like?

Since research shows how this immediate subconscious assessment takes place, it is worth to learn the patters that dictate our conduct.

During the training we will analyse together how society perceives you using a technology for measuring facial expressions.

Owing to practical group exercises you will learn what to change in your body language.
